This clinic specialises in diagnosing, managing and treating vague, diffuse, inexplainable pain and discomfort in the face, head, jaws, and joints (temporomandibular joints). The patients may feel pain behind the ear, in the inner ear, behind the eyes, forehead, soreness of the jaws, etc., The patient may feel as though the pain is due to dental causes, such as decayed teeth, impacted wisdom teeth or gum diseases. TMD problems are challenges to clinicians. One of the commonest causes of TMD is due to Myofascial disorder. They are evasive to diagnose.
Over here, these conditions/disorders are usually managed non-invasively without surgical procedures and with minimal medications.
Some patients develop disorders/diseases of the mucosa, ligaments, tendons, muscles in and around the jaws, and nerves of the face. The unfortunate scenario is that these diseases are very deceptive. Pain will not be felt in the place of disease but referred to another location of the face. Such patients usually give history of having made many futile visits to various dental clinics; not knowing the problem is from a totally different tissue. It is reported that the Hollywood actor of yesteryears Burt Reynold had had visited thirteen clinicians of various specialities before being diagnosed of Temperomandibular Disorder.

Apart from Temperomandibular Disorders (this term includes all tissues in and around the joint which is connecting the lower jaw to the base of the skull), there are many other conditions which may mimic dental pain. the following are some of such pathologies/diseases:
